FAQs

How do I know if I need therapy?

  • Sometimes you don’t know. If you aren’t sure then I encourage you to call and speak to a therapist. Chances are if you are reading this then you already suspect that you do.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

  • If you think that I may be a good therapist for you, then feel free to call me for a free no obligation 20 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. It is important to find a therapist that you are comfortable with, and if I am not the therapist for you then I will try to connect you with another therapist.

What is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)?

  • EMDR was developed by Francine Shapiro. It utilizes eye movements, or other bilateral stimulation, to decrease the intensity of traumatic or emotionally charged memories. It has been proven to be an effective treatment for PTSD, as well as other mental health issues.

Is online therapy effective?

  • The pandemic has increased the use of telehealth, and shown it to be an effective modality. It is not an appropriate medium for some people and some mental health issues, and we will discuss if it is appropriate for you during your free consultation.

Do you accept insurance?

  • No, but I can provide you with a superbill which you may submit to your insurance company, and they MAY reimburse you. There are many reasons that an insurance company may not reimburse you, so I only recommend you see me if reimbursement is a bonus rather than a necessity. I would not want you to be financially harmed by seeking therapy.

What are your rates?

  • A typical session is 45 minutes. Longer sessions are available for an additional fee.

  • Individual therapy session: $200
